Praise God from whom all blessing flow

Yesterday, after a late night shopping for food, I went back home and finished my dish washing. It was already 10pm when all the cleaning was finished. Then, I started to prepare and cut the bought meat, getting it ready for each cooked portion. When that's ready, too, I opened the freezer and prepared to put the meat in. when I saw the tub of ice cream blocking my way, naturally I took it out, putting it on top of the fridge and forgot all about it.

Morning came. After making breakfast and lunch for my family members, I spotted the tub, high up on top of the fridge. I knew the content must have been all melted now, yet I still intended to put it back to the freezer, hoping to freeze it for a while so that it could still be edible. As the freezer did not have space to put the tub vertically, I needed to put it sideway and here came the disaster!

The content leaked, like lava, gushed out from the top shelf all the way down to the bottom of the freezer, contaminating the frozen food. It’s too late to do anything to stop the flow now. Felt a bit overwhelmed, I took away the tub and began to start the cleansing.

The work was gross and yuck. The ‘lava’ was sticky and messy. The first few wiping only helped to clear the surface without making the place dry and hygienic. Finally, I had to take out most of the content and clear the freezer thoroughly.

Yet, surprisingly, I did not feel very frustrated. Partly because it happened after all the hectic preparation for school and work for my loved ones was finished, and most important of all, when I was doing the cleansing, the following Bible verse keeps ringing in my head –

Psalm 133:1 –3

How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along!
It's like costly anointing oil flowing down head and beard,
Flowing down Aaron's beard, flowing down the collar of his priestly robes.

It's like the dew on Mount Hermon flowing down the slopes of Zion.
Yes, that's where God commands the blessing, ordains eternal life.

This picture enabled me to clean the messy freezer without agitation and filled me with joy, knowing that God is speaking to me to reassure His blessings and love.

At first I just cleaned the places where obvious mess was seen, then I decided to take things out so that I could clean the whole place thoroughly. Later I found out that it was a necessary task – there were places, cracks and slits, where the melted ice-cream had sipped in without my realization. This is like my heart and inner self, some parts of it are deceitful even without my notice. May God’s words penetrate them and bring those parts into light so that I can ask for His forgiveness and do a thorough cleansing.

Thank you, Jesus, for revealing to me such a wonderful lesson.
